Steam handed its coveted “Featured Win” spotlight to a game called Horny: Zero Moan 🔞🦕 this week, and the juxtaposition between the title’s… let’s say energy and the completely earnest praise it’s receiving is something to behold.
Developed by Lewd Star and released May 9, the adult visual novel tasks players with surviving in a “savage jungle tribe” — outsmarting rivals, courting priestesses, and making choices that shape their destiny. The full description includes the word “Challenger” and an unironic period after each. It costs $9.44 during a launch discount (37% off its $14.99 base price). It supports 28 languages.
And players are into it. Out of 37 reviews on Steam, 36 are positive — good for a 97% rating. The top reviews read like they were written for an entirely different game.
“It’s like Horizon Zero Dawn, but at a reasonable price,” one player with 2.7 hours logged wrote, “and it includes things you couldn’t do in the original game or in real life — namely, chatting up girls and having sex with them as much as you want.”
Another reviewer, two hours in, described the experience in minimalist terms: “I pressed the button and heard a sound. Repeat 100 times. Its more addictive than expected. This is not a game. Its a challenge. And I accepted it.”
A third flagged a dangling plot thread with genuine literary concern: “There’s a Dinosaur in the game, but it doesn’t impregnate anyone. It’s a Chekhov’s Gun…”
The game is charting on Steam’s New Releases list alongside its Featured Win status. Eighty-one players were concurrent at time of writing. It supports Steam Achievements and Family Sharing — a combination that raises questions best left unexplored.
Lewd Star hasn’t commented on the reception. The dinosaur remains unresolved.
