Path of Exile 2 hasn’t officially launched yet. That hasn’t stopped Grinding Gear Games from listing four new supporter packs on Steam, priced at $29.99 and $89.99 apiece.

The “Return of the Ancients” collection, released May 7, spans two cosmetic lines — Divinity and Bloodreaver — each with a $30 entry tier and a $90 top tier. The premium packs bundle armour sets and 900 in-game points alongside the usual assortment of forum titles and social frames, with additional exclusives per series — Bloodreaver adds a hideout and a pet, while Divinity offers a map device and wings. The $30 packs offer a lighter loadout of 300 points and a badge, plus series-specific cosmetics — Bloodreaver includes a weapon effect and charge skin, while Divinity offers a dodge roll effect and a portal.

All four products appeared on Steam’s New Releases chart simultaneously. None have accumulated user reviews.

This is the second wave of supporter packs for Path of Exile 2’s early access period. According to Grinding Gear Games’ official purchase page, players cannot upgrade from the earlier Early Access packs to the new series — they sit in different product tracks. What players can do is upgrade within a series, with up to 80% of a pack’s value contributed by prior point purchases made since May 6.

The pricing strategy is straightforward: extract revenue from committed players before the game is finished. Supporter packs have long been a revenue pillar for the original Path of Exile, and Grinding Gear Games is extending the model to its sequel with mechanical precision. The three-tier structure within each series ($30, $60, $90) creates a natural upgrade path — buy a lower-tier pack now, and up to 80% of a higher tier’s price can be covered by prior pack and point purchases combined.

Whether the community considers this aggressive or simply expected depends on how one views early access itself: a beta test with a toll booth, or a funding mechanism for ongoing development. Grinding Gear Games has clearly chosen the latter framing.
